
So you want to eat like a carnivore, eh?
The best way to see what a carnivore diet can do for you is to look at people who have already done it before you dive in.
Carnivore diet weight loss before and after pictures demonstrate, as evidence, that this diet can indeed produce massive weight loss results.
So without making you read a giant introductory paragraph about what the carnivore diet is, I will just start showing what you came here to my blog to see.
Here are my 28 Day results on the carnivore diet.

As you can see I lost my gut and bloat. The first two weeks the scale didn’t move. I was not confused by this because I started going into the gym also. My body was going through many changes even though the scale did not change its number.
The little wins each day of sticking and committing to the diet were enough to motivate me and the momentum kept building. I was also journaling and keeping track of everything from my mood and energy levels.
Normally, when a person removes carbohydrates from their diet, they will lose a ton of water weight. I was on the ketogenic diet for two weeks prior. That might be why the scale didn’t just drop in the first week.
If you haven’t had success on the ketogenic diet, the carnivore diet might be your next step. Why? The ketogenic diet is great, but it is also tempting to get all the “Keto” junk food and still have the piece of mind you are still keto. I find many people struggling only to learn they are having too many “keto cheat foods”.
The truth is, carbs need to be very low to have the crazy weight loss results that people show you on the Ketogenic diet. The carnivore diet will keep you at zero carbs.
What was my carnivore diet meal plan?

I ate steaks lean or fatty and ground beef. I also included bacon, oysters, butter, and eggs. I ordered a large bucket of grass fed beef tallow and eat beef liver as well. This was my freezer. I had ground beef, livers, roasts, and soup bones.
Do you need grass fed beef to start the carnivore diet?
You can analyze all you want the differences between grass or grain fed beef.
You will drive yourself crazy because there is simply not enough evidence out there to say that the nutrients coming from grass fed are worth it to varying types of people based on socioeconomic status.
You will see all these allopathic physicians on YouTube telling people to eat grass fed only.
Sure, that is great if you are earning $250,000 a year and grass fed is readily available to you.
Buy what you can afford.
Grass fed is better to support the farmers. If you can afford it, by all means order a half of cow and freeze it.
I do both. I like the taste of grain fed beef much more than I like the taste of gamey grass finished beef.
I will buy grass fed Kerry Gold butter because it is just close to if not the same price as the standard crappy butter.
I have grass fed beef tallow as well. I will smear it on my lean steaks and also use it to fry in my skillet.

This guy got shredded. As you can see he was a high amount of body fat and lowered it significantly on the carnivore diet.
Amazing things happen when you remove sugar and harmful seed oils from your diet.
The other important thing to note about abs here: if anyone wants to see their abs, just lower your bodyfat.
Many people wonder how do I get six pack abs? The answer is simple: lower body fat. There is no “getting abs per say” everyone already has them buried under stomach fat.

I wrote extensively in this post here on Joe Rogan and the carnivore diet. He had numerous benefits after his diarrhea bout which he complained about.
I also suffered the same problem. I should have adjusted to the diet much, much slower.
I’m sure a lot of people who complain about this diarrhea issue didn’t go into the diet as slow as they should have.
If I could restart it, I would have taken much more time to acclimate my body to 0 grams fiber.
Joe Rogan said his energy levels were through the roof with no crashes and he lost a good amount of weight. Great results in only 30 days even though he was still including fruit which isn’t exactly considered a carnivore diet.
He was carnivorish and still started to see the perks that this diet has to offer. He questioned if it was the right way of eating because it goes against everything we have been told.
Now, let’s look at all the other people who have changed their bodies with an all meat carnivore diet.

Carnivore diet results: Why it makes sense to eliminate carbs?
Simple Carbohydrates have been a plague on American Society since the 1990’s. We were told fat was bad and as such, food companies processed more sugar to make up for the bland, fatless, foods.
What have we gotten as a result of demonizing fat in our country? Massive obesity rates. Pair that with the fact that our technology is making us move much less. It is the perfect storm for health problems.
Type 2 diabetes is a direct result of too many simple carbohydrates in the diet and yet there are still people out there advocating that these people who are suffering need to lower fat. It is insane.
Eliminating carbohydrates is absolutely safe for most people to do because the body can create its own sugar through the process known as gluconeogenesis.
If you have a big gut like I did and if you have been on a SAD diet (Standard American Diet)
The first step is eliminating carbohydrates to shrink your visceral fat. The ketogenic is a great way to experience the vibrant energy that ketones can provide you. Eventually, you might want to transition into a carnivore diet.
Are there sugar cravings?
The carnivore diet has almost completely removed sugar cravings. I will say, that I didn’t really crave sugar all that much when I had access to it. This way of eating, though has almost entirely eliminated sugar cravings for me.
When I was on the ketogenic diet, there was a lot of “keto junk food”. There are cakes and treats you can buy at the store that claim to be keto, but they are just filled with “keto-approved sugar alcohols”.
The body reacts to these sweeteners the same as it would to sugar. This can cause stalls in weight loss or increase sugar cravings.
This carnivore experiment allowed me to stop eating sweets. Steak and eggs keep me satiated and full. I would say that it has changed my relationship to food. I eat to live now instead of living to eat.
Weight loss

Though carnivores have many advantages, weight loss has been a big reason for deciding the path. The very act of eliminating carbohydrates allows your body to use bodyfat as energy. We want this. Yes, we want this very much.
Also, when you eliminate a certain group of food, you will inevitably be part of a calorie restricted diet that is also helpful in losing weight.
What are some of your favorite desserts? I promise you they are mostly based in sugar and carbohydrates.
On a meat diet, you will just not have the options to choose the “cheat meal”.
Other health benefits of the Carnivore Diet
Many people eating a meat diet can improve digestive issues, skin issues, and reduce autoimmune diseases. Red meat is the lowest reactive food and as such, is the perfect food to eat for an elimination diet.
Anecdotal evidence from people who have adopted the carnivore diet have lowered their high blood pressure. They stabilized their blood sugar levels. They have gotten off expensive medications. This is no surprise to me as most health problems stem from a poor diet.
Also, look no further than Mikhaila Peterson. She eats red meat and salt. She removed her depression and autoimmune disease. She is a huge advocate for eating an all meat diet and also convinced her father, Jorden Peterson, to this way of eating. Jordan Peterson is a very wise man. I suggest reading his book 12 Rules for Life.
Is the Carnivore Diet Keto?
Yes, you will be in ketosis. The carnivore diet is a ketogenic diet. When you reduce carbohydrates below 20g, you will enter ketosis.
Carnivore diet meal ideas
Bacon and eggs, eggs and bacon, bacon and eggs. Just kidding! When you start the carnivore diet, it might feel this way. A good carnivore diet meal plan is just fatty red meat. It depends on what type of person you are. Do you like a lot of variety?
Cook up a nice chuck roast and add in some shrimp.
Throw some oysters in a kettle with some butter. There are tons of choices. My particular way of eating is just buying roasts, cooking them, eating them throughout the week.
I throw in a ribeye or two as well during the week. Sometimes, I crave seafood.
My life has gotten very simple since going carnivore. Some mornings, I am not even hungry. I might just eat a giant steak for dinner and that is all.
Feel free to have pork or chicken wings when you want. I bought a whole chicken last week and cooked it in the slow cooker. Another popular choice for carnivores is fresh lamb chops.
There is still plenty of variety when it comes to meat choices.
When you have been on the carnivore diet for a length of time such as 90 or 120 days, feel free to add stuff back in such as seasonings.
Your body will give you feedback as to whether or not what you are adding in is going to cause reactions.
Common questions about carnivore diet weight loss results

Do you lose weight fast on carnivore diet?
The first week you are likely to drop water weight. I can say from my experience the scale didn’t change at all but I did feel leaner in my clothes.
At the time of writing this, I lost 12 lbs in 28 days time. This is the fastest I ever lost weight in my life. I still have two more days before I check my 30 day carnivore diet results so I may end up losing even more weight by that weigh in.
This progress will only accelerate as I add in more intermittent fasting.
How long does it take to see results on carnivore?
Having completed 28 days of the carnivore diet, myself I am sure the transition should take about 2-6 weeks for the average person.
In the beginning, the body is adjusting to the zero carb diet and the zero fiber diet.
Most people should notice changes by the 2 week mark. The longer you stay committed, the more bonuses you should see.
Please remember to adjust slowly over time before reducing all carbs and fiber to zero. I recommend slowly adjusting to a ketogenic diet and then slowly adjusting to the carnivore diet from that point.
How do carnivores lose the most weight?
By adding in resistance training and intermittent fasting, you should be able to accelerate your progress if the goal is to lose weight. As you become fat-adapted after the first 60 days, you will accelerate weight loss even more.

What about fiber?
My experience was the exact opposite of constipation.
Most people think that when they cut out fiber they will not be able to poop. Wrong! I had no issues in this department.
I will say again, here, if I could go back and do it all over again, I would have slowly adjusted to the zero carb diet by doing a low carb diet for a month or longer and slowly decreasing my carbohydrate and fiber.
You can totally jack up your biome and gut bacteria when radically switching any type of diet. This is a big mistake many people make including me.

What about vitamin C? Won’t I get scurvy on the carnivore diet?
You will not get scurvy on a nose to tail carnivore diet.
This means that you are having not just muscle meats, but also organ meats. Oysters and salmon provide a good amount of vitamin C along with red meat.
You can supplement with organ supplements as well if you choose. I only eat liver as an organ choice because it is readily available. It does have a strong copper taste, though. Many other carnivores just eat muscle meat. I strongly believe that it is best to at least supplement organs if you choose to go that route.
